Iowa's heritage is rich with agriculture, and its future depends on the industry. In fact, Iowa's farm, food and agriculture-affiliated industries account for nearly 25 percent of the state's total industrial output, the largest contribution by any single industry (source: Iowa State University). Unfortunately, most young Iowans are several generations removed from the farm and know little about modern farming in Iowa.
These materials were developed to make learning about Iowa's corn industry and the important ways corn makes a difference fun! In addition, links are provided to several other fun sites for kids and educators to learn about agriculture. Have a question about corn farming or corn products? Contact us!
