To see how markets work and to talk face-to-face with customers around the world, Iowa farmers through the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) along with the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) and the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) have boots on the ground in major export markets. Building relationships amongst Iowa corn farmers and international buyers remains a key to USGC and USMEF’s work that can be directly attributed to sales of U.S. corn products.

The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) recognizes Dave Burmahl and his wife Angie for receiving the ‘Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award’. The award was presented to the Burmahls by Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig in a ceremony with their family, friends, neighbors and community members last week on their farm in rural Jackson County. David is a long time ICGA member.

Iowa Speedway and Iowa Corn today announced a multi-year sponsorship renewal that will keep Iowa Corn as title sponsor of the Verizon IndyCar Series Iowa Corn 300 through 2018. Iowa Corn is in its 10th year of partnership with “The Fastest Short Track on the Planet.” The renewed agreement continues the second longest entitlement sponsorship in INDYCAR racing.

STATEMENT FROM IOWA CORN PROMOTION BOARD PRESIDENT MARK HECKMAN- On behalf of Iowa’s corn farmers, we applaud our partners, the Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance (IAWA) and Illinois Corn for receiving Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) co-led the Iowa application. These projects will provide Iowa corn farmers with additional tools to accelerate adoption of conservation practices to improve soil health and water quality.

Iowa Corn will begin the New Year by offering a series of crop fairs hosted at local venues around the state. These crop fairs feature an array of speakers on topics that will help farmers navigate the progressive agriculture industry and allow learning opportunities to directly interact with local and state experts. One of the first crop fairs of the season will be held in Iowa City, Iowa on January 28th at the Marriot Conference Center, 300 E 9th. St., Coralville, Iowa. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. and a breakfast bar will be provided.
