Iowa Corn Growers Respond to Senate Farm Bill, Welcomes E15/ICGA Priorities

Over the weekend, the U.S. Senate released its updated Farm Bill text, which includes a key provision for year-round, nationwide access to E15. In response, Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) President and farmer from Waverly, Iowa, Mark Mueller released the following statement:

“The Senate Farm Bill’s inclusion of year-round E15 is a welcomed sight for Iowa’s corn growers, who have championed nationwide access to higher blends of ethanol for years. This progress not only drives demand for American corn, but it also lowers prices at the pump for consumers and strengthens our national energy independence. Iowa’s drivers have already capitalized on E15 savings, seeing an average savings of 15 cents per gallon for a combined savings of more than $60 million across the state in 2025, and it is time all Americans have access to that benefit.

“Beyond E15, several other critical Iowa Corn priorities earned a spot in the Senate draft. This includes the Fertilizer Transparency Act, a key effort ICGA helped champion alongside Senator Chuck Grassley and Representative Ashley Hinson to bring fair pricing and oversight to farm inputs. Along with an increase in USDA’s MAP and FMD funding for trade promotion specifically with our partners from the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council and U.S. Meat Export Federation. It also includes an extension of the Genomes to Phenome research program.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Iowa Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst for their relentless leadership and advocacy. Their hard work has been instrumental in keeping E15 and other Iowa Corn priorities front and center in this bill. ICGA remains fully committed to working alongside Congress and our industry partners to push this legislation across the finish line for America’s farmers and families.”
