U.S. Grains Council

The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) works to develop export markets for barley, corn, grain sorghum and related products like ethanol and distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS). The Council believes exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture’s profitability. Together, Iowa Corn and USGC promote U.S. feed grains around the clock in more than 50 countries with 10 international locations.

  • An estimated 113 million metric tons of U.S. feed grains in all forms were exported in the 2016 to 2017 marketing year. This was an increase of 12 million metric tons compared to the year prior – amazing!
  • Nearly 95% of the world’s population lives outside the U.S.
  • One in every 3 rows of corn is grown for exports.
  • Top corn export countries include: Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Columbia, and Peru.

The Iowa Corn and USGC partnership will continue to work to increase awareness and exposure to champion the quality of U.S. grains and bring more business to the American farmer.
