The Iowa Corn Promotion Board® (ICPB) is proud to sponsor T-Bone the corn-fed steer at this year’s 37th Iowa State Fair Governor’s Charity Steer Show on Saturday. Accompanying the steer will be Iowa Corn Growers Association® President Curt Mether, a farmer from Logan. All proceeds of the show go directly to the Ronald McDonald Houses of Iowa and the families in need at the facility. |

The Iowa Corn Promotion Board® (ICPB) will hold elections in Crop Reporting Districts 2, 3, 5 and 7. Iowa corn farmers elect their peers to serve on the Board of Directors of ICPB to oversee the investment of funds generated by the Iowa corn checkoff program. The board’s primary priorities and responsibilities include domestic and foreign market development, research of new and value-added corn uses and education on corn and the farmers who grow it. |

At the BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and AgTech in Des Moines, the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) will present an update on Wednesday on the plant-based bioplastic, MonoEthylene Glycol (MEG). ICPB invests in research centered on developing new uses for corn and building demand for Iowa corn farmers. MEG, which can be made from Iowa corn, has potential in the marketplace because it’s a renewable, recyclable product that can replace fossil fuel-based plastics in everything from soda bottles to car parts. |

The Mitchell County Corn Growers Association partnered with Sukup Manufacturing Co. to help fund a Safe T Home® at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds yesterday. The Safe T Home® is a new addition to the Little Farm Hands project, an interactive, educational experience related to life on an Iowa farm. Little Farm Hands was created in 2013 by the Mitchell County Corn and Soybean Associations. Last year, over 600 kids toured the barn for a hands-on learning experience about Iowa agriculture. The Safe T Home® expands the display allowing the youngest fairgoers an ongoing educational opportunity. |
