James Eiler is the founding principal of Eiler Capital Advisors, a niche investment banking firm focused on capital formation in the food, agribusiness, and renewable energy sectors. Being a recognized thought leader and speaker in these industries, he understands the industry changes in these sectors and the resulting opportunities that are created for his clients. The firm applies a wide range of advisory and corporate finance capabilities to assist our middle-market clients with ownership, capital, and growth opportunities or challenges. Jim is a FINRA registered representative with LWBJ Investment Services, LLC with his Series 7, 24, 63, 79, & 99 licenses.
Prior to forming Eiler Capital Advisors, Jim was Managing Partner of Cybus Capital Markets, LLC which merged with First National Investment Bank in 2007. Cybus raised over $3 billion of capital for over 200 national clients in renewable energy, natural & organic foods, green manufacturing, and the meat protein sectors.
Jim’s financial services career spans over thirty years of Senior Management positions in commercial banks, the Farm Credit System, John Deere Credit, and Cybus Capital. These former positions include: Senior Vice President Agricultural Financial Services, John Deere Credit; President and CEO of Farm Credit Leasing; Chief Financial Officer for AgriBank; Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for the St. Louis Farm Credit Bank; and eighteen years in commercial banking.
Jim was raised on a grain & livestock family farm in Eastern Iowa. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with BS & MS degrees in Agricultural Economics. He is also a 1984 graduate of the ABA’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Jim also serves as an independent director on the Board of Rural Development Partners, a New Market Tax Credit Community Development Entity, focused on rural economic development projects nationally.
