Pete Brecht

Pete Brecht is a third-generation farmer, farming for 35 years near Central City in Linn County. For many years he had been a cattle and swine producer but currently raises both corn and soybeans with his brother. His son also farms with them on a part-time basis.

Pete currently serves as an Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District No. 6 and Chair of the Iowa Corn Research & Business Development Committee.

He is actively involved in the Linn County Corn Growers and the Linn County Ag Expo. Pete is a member of National Federation of Independent Businessmen, Linn County Farm Bureau, Linn County Corn Growers, Linn County Soybean Growers, Linn County Cattlemen’s Association and National Corn Growers Association. He has also been a Linn County voting delegate at the Iowa Corn Growers Association policy conference for the past two years.

He is actively involved in his community and currently serves on the finance council for St. Stephen’s Parish. He has also served on the Central City Community School Board and on the St. Stephen’s Parish Council. He also volunteers his time at the Linn County Fair.

Pete and his wife, Diane, have three children and nine grandchildren.
