Reed is a third-generation farmer from Humboldt, Iowa where he farms with his father growing corn, sweet corn, and soybeans. He is founder of AgriPeril Risk Management, an agricultural risk management firm that specializes in crop and livestock insurance. Reed received a degree in Agricultural Business and International Agriculture from Iowa State University and his Master’s degree in International Agriculture from Oklahoma State University. As part of his thesis, Reed lived and worked with farmers in Northwestern Peru with special focus on improving profitability. From his experience abroad he gained a strong appreciation for modern agriculture and has enjoyed working to enhance his family’s farming operation. Reed enjoys traveling, cheering on both the Cyclones and Cowboys, and spending time in the outdoors.
