Matt Rector is currently serving as the Regional Director for Senator Chuck Grassley based out of the Waterloo regional office covering 18 counties in northeast and north central Iowa. This role encompasses meeting with chambers, groups, businesses, and individuals pertaining to all matters that involve the federal government or federal policy. Even though the role covers a great deal of information, Matt’s background in agriculture has brought value to the state Grassley team when talking policy with the constituents. Matt is the 7th generation of a family farm that is located in Denver, Iowa. The farming operation has been widely varied over the years to include; corn, soybeans, hay, oats, cattle, dairy, hogs, poultry, waterfowl, and exotic animals like llamas and ostriches. He currently lives on a nearby farm and raises llamas for competition, to sell, and a growing business of agri-tourism. Matt is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Ag-Business. Previous work experience includes working as an agronomist for co-ops and working in the insurance and finance industry as a broker/producer. In his spare time he enjoys traveling to new places, being outdoors biking or kayaking, competing in and judging llama events, and spending time with family.
