Maison Bleam serves as the Legislative Liaison & Policy Advisor to Geri Huser, Chairwoman of the Iowa Utilities Board. The Board regulates the rates and services of electric, natural gas, and water utilities, the services of communications utilities, and generally supervises all pipelines and the transmission, sale, and distribution of electrical current. In this position, Maison acts as the primary point of contact for the Iowa Legislature, Governors Office, and Congressional delegation. Prior to joining Board, Maison served as the Legislative Liaison & Policy Advisor to Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig at the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship.
He is the sixth-generation of his family’s diversified farming operation near Manson, Iowa, where they raise cattle, hogs, corn, and soybeans. Maison is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.A., Political Science (2009) and B.A., Ethics & Public Policy (2009). He is also a graduate of the Drake University College of Business & Public Administration, M.P.A. (2017) and the Drake University Law School, J.D. (2017). As an avid traveler, Maison enjoys visiting new countries and learning about new cultures. He is frequently coerced, however, into trips that involve his least favorite part of traveling - camping and hiking.
