Joe grew up as the third generation on his family farm outside of Belmond where they raise corn and soybeans while implementing conservation practices like strip-till, no-till, cover crops and more. He attended Iowa State University and received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, agronomy with a focus on crop and business management, and seed science. Following Iowa State, he has returned home to the family farm and continues his seed dealership with Beck’s Hybrids while residing in Belmond. When he is not farming, he is involved as a board member for Iowa Corn District 2, committee member on the Research and Business Development through Iowa Corn, as well as a Wright County Farm Bureau board member. In his little spare time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, golfing, and cheering for the Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas City Chiefs.
