Jason Orr, District 3
Jason Orr is a fifth-generation farmer from Buchanan County, raising waxy corn, grass hay and 70 head of stock cows. He farms along with his father and oldest son. On their farm they use cover crops on every acre and strip-till.
Currently Jason serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 3 and as the Chair of the Industrial Usage and U.S. Production Committee.
Jason has lived in northeast Iowa for his entire life and has had numerous experiences helping represent District 3. Currently he serves on the Buchanan County Corn Growers Board (2008-present), Buchanan County Fair Association Board (2022-present), Buchanan County Pork Producers Board (2003-2007) and is an active member of Iowa Corn Growers Association. He represents Iowa Corn on Americas Cultivation Corridor Board and on the Ethanol Action Team for the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council. Jason is very passionate about corn production and will continue to fight to keep the demand for agriculture products high.
Jason and his wife Megan have three children Jaxtin (13), Kaydence (19) and Jarret. Jarret and his wife Lauren farm with them. Outside of working on the farm Jason and his family enjoy golfing and attending concerts. Jason hopes to incorporate his younger kids into the operation in time. His passion for growing corn and agriculture in Iowa, drives him to be on the ICPB and advocate for the next generation to have the same opportunities that he has had in the industry.
