Ted Hamer, District 3

Ted Hamer has farmed for over forty years near Traer, Iowa, in Black Hawk County along with his wife Linda. On his farm he raises corn, soybeans, seed corn and seed soybeans. At 22, Ted took over the farming operation from his dad. He shares he is having more fun farming now than he ever has.

Ted is a member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Soybean Association. He also facilitates a farming peer group comprised of 8 entities that act as each other’s board of directors. For 20 years he served on the board of his local elevator and served as president for several years. Outside of the farm he is active on his church boards, he served as a youth group leader, Sunday school and bible study leader and served for six years on the local school board, three as president.

Ted shares he is often described as a people person and views every stranger as a friend he just hasn’t met yet.

Ted currently serves as an Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 3 and on the Research & Business Development Committee.
