
Louie Zumbach, District 6
Louie Zumbach has been farming in Linn County since 1988, raising corn and soybeans alongside his wife, Deb. On their operation they have long utilized waterways, and have also incorporated filter strips, headlands, and are experimenting with cover crops and adding a bioreactor to further enhance sustainability on the farm. His farming operation includes Jared and Ashley Zumbach, along with Louieās daughter Allison and her husband Luke.
Louie currently serves as an Iowa Corn Growers Association Director representing District 6 and as Chair for the Grassroots Network, Membership & Checkoff Committee.
Before serving in the Iowa House of Representatives where he served on the Agricultural Appropriations Committee and the Agriculture Committee, State Government Committee and Ways and Means Committee, Louie successfully ran an auction company.
Louie has served as a past member of the Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer Committee, past County Director of the Linn County Farm Bureau, and past Chair of the Linn County Extension. He was also the past President of the Linn County Fair Board.
In addition, Louie has been actively involved in his community as past Chair of the Linn County Board of Supervisors District #3, a church council member, and a volunteer firefighter for Prairieburg. He is also an active member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau and the Iowa Cattlemen Association.
The Zumbachs have four children, Brandy (Michael), Taylor (Blake), Allison (Luke) and Rachel (Matt) and four grandsons, Zachary, Weston, Oliver and LJ.
