2026 Summer Communications Internship
Position Description
Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board (Iowa Corn) is seeking an organized, energetic, and passionate person to assist with activities in our Communications Department during the Summer. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a talented student to share Iowa corn farmers’ stories, educate consumers and decision makers about corn and the farmers that grow corn. The Communications Intern will work closely with Iowa Corn’s Communications Team to provide support for state and local programs.
Internship Job Responsibilities
- Implement Iowa Corn communications events, promotions, and special projects such as the Iowa State Fair, Iowa Corn 350, Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series, etc.
- Write and gather content for the Iowa Corn weekly e-newsletter the Insider.
- Provide communications support for various programs, such as county fairs, water bottle events, field days, trade teams, etc.
- Create invites, flyers, social posts, banners, videos, posters and other content for a variety of platforms across Iowa Corn programs.
- Coordinate photo shoots and farmer interviews across the state.
- Represent Iowa Corn at various events, such as ISU Dairy Days, Field Days, FFA events, local and county events, radio remotes, etc.
- Participate in organizational meetings in June and August with board and committee members.
- Attend Corn Congress in Washington D.C. in July 2026 or similar industry conference
- This position is directed by the Vice President of Communications and works with the Communications team to perform additional duties or tasks to support Iowa Corn’s mission.
This position will be full-time beginning in mid-May and ending after Friday, August 21, 2026.

- Knowledge of Canva and/or Adobe software programs
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Education and Experience
- Freshman year of college completed
- Communications, Ag Comms, Journalism, Marketing education path
- Agricultural background a plus

- Occasionally lifting 20 lb boxes or equipment
- Be qualified to drive company vehicles (Will be required to submit DOT driving record and pass underwriting approval for operating a company vehicle to accept position.)
Compensation
This is a paid internship $17/hour – up to 40 hours per week.
