Gina White, District 1

Gina White farms near Spencer, Iowa in Clay County, raising corn and soybeans. She holds a degree in Agriculture Communications from Iowa State University. She worked for a year as a farm broadcaster at KICD in Spencer, four years as a grain merchandiser at Valero Renewables in Hartley and currently as a business administrator at Agriland Inc. Farm Management & Realty.

Gina has been farming with her husband Patrick and father-in-law Chuck since moving to Spencer in 2019 but has taken a more active role in renting her own ground and participating in the beginning farmer program since 2025. She shared that her favorite part of their operation is the use of conservation practices like no-till, strip-till and cover crops. Sharing that they are only temporary caretakers of the land that they farm and it is their job to ensure that the land is passed onto the next generation in better condition than when they started farming it.

Through Iowa Corn, Gina has served on the Animal Agriculture and Environmental Committee and currently serves on the Grassroots, Network, Membership and Checkoff Committee. She is a recent graduate of the Iowa Corn Leadership Enhancement and Development Program (I-LEAD). Sharing her involvement in I-LEAD jumpstarted her interest in active participation with agricultural organizations. Gina is currently serving as a board member of the Clay County Farm Bureau Board and as a board member of the District 1 Iowa Corn Committee. She is an active member of Iowa Corn Growers Association, the Iowa Soybean Association, Practical Farmers of Iowa and the Iowa Farm Bureau. Off the farm, she is an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the local Spencer YMCA, and the Clay County Fair.

Gina serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 1 and as the Vice Chair of the Grassroots Network, Membership and Checkoff Committee.

She wants to be able to advocate effectively on behalf of Iowa corn farmers to consumers in cities across the country that biofuels and sustainable energy sources play a key role in the future of our country. Gina shared as a beginning farmer with a communications background and a passion for the industry, she has been blessed to be able to experience the full circle of prosperity and the hardships that come with farming. If elected, she would love to be able to use her unique perspective to share insights that are affecting the next generation as they become more involved both on and off the farm.
