Eric Weuve, District 5

Eric Weuve farms in Story County, where he raises corn and soybeans, and previously had a farrow to finish swine operation and cow/calf herd. Since returning to his family operation 12 years ago, Eric has further incorporated the use of technology and the implementation of variable rate nitrogen on all corn acres. They also use hybrid mapping to analyze corn hybrids and performance.

Eric holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in agriculture education and works as an ISU Extension Farm Management Field Specialist and previously was a college ag instructor.

Eric is serving as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director for District 5 and serves on the Exports & Grain Trade Committee.

Eric is a member of Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Soybean Association and Key Cooperative. He has served as a board member and president of the Iowa Association of Agriculture Educators and the Iowa FFA Foundation, Inc. Outside of farming, he serves as the Warren Township Trustee (Story County) and has served as the McCallsburg Lions Club Treasurer, Story County Community Foundation Advisory Board and former Mayor/City Council member for the City of Carson, Iowa.
