My name is Brooke Kerns and I am country girl at heart with fond memories of growing up on a small beef cattle operation south of Jefferson City, Missouri. This operation gave me the opportunity to show cattle at local, regional and even national shows through the 4-H and FFA program. When I wasn't showing cattle, I found myself riding a hay-rack with my family as a part of their custom hay and fescue harvesting business.
I have a passion for agriculture, especially animals, which led me to attend the University of Missouri I received a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Ag Econ. To allow my passion to continue, I accepted a position with Cargill, Inc. after graduation. I worked there for about four years and then joined Iowa Corn Growers Association in 2013 as the Market Development Manager.
In my role, I work hard to promote farmers and help build demand for Iowa corn, whether through ethanol education, relationships with livestock groups or hosting foreign teams. What I love most about my job is working with farmers, educating consumers, building relationships with industry professionals, and figuring out how we can continue to build demand for Iowa corn. My industry involvement continues to grow each day.
In my spare time, I enjoy biking in the warm season and spending time with my husband, Luke, who is now trying to get me interested in snowmobiling. We both enjoy traveling, which began while on a trip to Europe when Luke proposed in Venice, Italy. Luke is currently employed by John Deere.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my new role here at Iowa Corn and was quickly exposed to the deep importance of corn for ethanol development, feed for livestock and grain for exports.
