It started out rainy, just like corn planting season in Iowa started off, but in the short Iowa Corn Indy 250 history- the sun came out and fast ethanol powered Indy Cars raced. This marked the 7th Iowa Corn Indy 250 in Newton before an over 30,000 plus crowd.
Iowa farmers in attendance welcomed a day away from crop worries to watch a fuel that they helped produce run high-tech Indy Cars at 180 miles per hour. The drivers have all been quoted that they love coming to Iowa, they love the fans in the stands and they love the short fast track. Even with the famous bumps, it seems in the past 7 years, these drivers and their crews have figured out how to handle Iowa- both the people and track!
