Yesterday, Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) members, along with Board Directors, I-LEAD class members, Collegiate Advisory Team representatives, county leaders, farmers and agri-business representatives participated in the legislative process through the ICGA, Day on the Hill. The group had a quick debrief about ICGA legislative priorities for 2013 and then they had the opportunity to lobby their state legislators at the Capitol. Many of the participants spoke with their legislators about the benefits of increasing the checkoff rate.

In addition, Bruce Rohwer, President of Iowa Corn Growers Association spoke at a fuel tax press conference. Bruce said, “As a state we must invest in our infrastructure to maintain our ability to do day-to-day business, access markets, and continue contributing to job and economic growth in Iowa.”
Following the Capitol visit, the Board members visited the Iowa Hall of Pride to see the new agricultural exhibit. The exhibit tells the story of modern agriculture, involving the latest equipment, production methods and technology.
