Meet a member of the Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team – Adam Bierbaum

The Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team is made up of students who are pursuing degrees related to agriculture at Iowa’s colleges and universities, and who are preparing for careers in agriculture production and allied industries. Team members participate in programs developed by the Iowa Corn Growers Association and the Iowa Corn Promotion Board to learn more about the organizations and to address current challenges and opportunities present in the agricultural sector.

The team is meeting this week so we thought we’d feature one of its members.

Adam Bierbaum is a senior at Iowa State University (ISU) majoring in Agronomy. He grew up on a family farm in Griswold, IA. After graduating from ISU, Adam plans to work in the seed industry while also participating in his family's farming operation. His family raises corn and soybeans on their farm in Cass County.

Adam is involved with the Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team because it is very important to inform consumers about what farmers do and he wants to be a member of groups that share this responsibility.

Adam says the future of farming is very bright.

“Farmers are always working to produce more while lowering the inputs needed. People will always need food so farmers will always be needed,” says Bierbaum.
