Soil Health Partnership Offers Iowa Farmers Virtual Field Day Webinar

March 29, 2016

Tomorrow at noon the Soil Health Partnership (SHP) will provide farmers the opportunity to participate in virtual field day where they will learn about the latest conservation practices catching on in Iowa and beyond including cover crops, nutrient/soil management, and precision business planning. This is a free event you can participate in from your phone, computer or tablet.

The Soil Health Partnership, a farmer-led initiative, will soon embark on its third summer of field days to help farmers learn from their peers about how changing certain practices can improve the environment, and maybe even the bottom-line. But first, with the help of United Supplier's SUSTAIN™ platform, we're bringing this VIRTUAL field day webinar to Iowa farmers.

Speakers:

  •  Elyssa McFarland, Soil Health Partnership Field Manager
  •  Jim Jordahl, Program Manager, Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance
  •  Wade Kent, SHP Farmer, Algona, Iowa
  •  Dave Muth, AgSolver

The SHP is an initiative of the National Corn Growers Association in partnership with the Iowa Corn. This partnership provides a greater understanding and implementation of agricultural practices to protect resources for future generations. The SHP identifies, tests and measures farm management practices that improve soil health and benefit farmers. The results of this farmer-led project will provide a platform for peer-to-peer conversations and information sharing, and lend resources to benefit agricultural sustainability and profitability.

When: Wed, Mar 30, 2016 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CDT
