Ryan Hunter-Reay Wins 2nd Consecutive Iowa Corn 300

July 20, 2015

Ryan Hunter-Reay brought home another Iowa Corn 300 trophy at Saturday’s premier event at the Iowa Speedway. This will be the ninth year that Iowa Corn has sponsored the race and the second consecutive win for Hunter-Reay; he has won the event a grand total of three times. The #28 ethanol-powered driver seemed very pleased with his win on Saturday night after only one top five finish this season. “Iowa Corn would like to congratulate Ryan Hunter-Reay on his second consecutive win here at the Iowa Corn 300. This event continues to be an excellent platform for promoting and showcasing the true power of ethanol, “says Iowa Corn Promotion Board President, Chris Edgington.

In the VIP tent, farmer members had the chance to listen to IndyCar drivers Conor Daly and Gabby Chaves.  Members also had the opportunity to hear from special guests, Senator Joni Ernst and Congressman Dave Loebsack. Both officials made it clear that they support ethanol, the RFS, and Iowa corn farmers. Iowa Corn Growers Association President, Jerry Mohr had this to say following the event, “We would like to thank Senator Ernst and Congressman Loebsack for coming out to support the ethanol industry today. I would like to remind members and non-members alike to do their part in supporting ethanol by submitting comments to the EPA by the July 27th deadline.”
