Join Iowa Corn at Dow’s Junction for an Ethanol Promotion Event

July 1, 2019

WHAT: The Iowa Corn Promotion Board® (ICPB) and the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) has partnered with Dow’s Junction to hold an ethanol promotion.

Iowa Corn members will be available for interviews at the fuel promotion.

WHERE: Dow’s Junction 904 Cardinal Ave., Dows, IA 50071 – just west of I-35

WHEN: Friday July 5, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During this timeframe motorists can take advantage of fuel discounts like 15 cents off E15 and E85 for 85 cents per gallon.

WHY: E15 is the lowest-cost, cleanest burning fuel for 2001 and newer vehicles which make up more than 85 percent of the vehicles on the road today. Meanwhile, consumers with Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) can choose E85 to save even more money and burn an even cleaner fuel while supporting Iowa’s farmers. One in ten vehicles are FFVs that can use E85. Visit iowacorn.org for a full listing of E15 and E85 stations in Iowa.

Ethanol not only provides savings for your wallet but also cleaner air for the environment. Fueling vehicles with the highest blend of ethanol makes a big difference to Iowa’s air quality. Ethanol reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 55.1 million metric tons in 2018, this is equivalent of removing 11.7 million cars from the road for a full year.

That’s a big reason why the American Lung Association worked with several organizations, including ICPB, to launch the Clean Air Choice™ campaign helping drivers understand the correlation between ethanol and lung health.
