Today Iowa Corn announced the nine winning schools of the water bottle filling station giveaway that has taken place over the last two months. Iowans had the chance to nominate their local schools by explaining their need for the touch-free water filling station. This portion of the #StrongerTogether campaign focused on bringing awareness that farmers care about the water we share.
“Iowa Corn received over 200 applications for the water bottle filling station giveaway, and it’s a great feeling to know we have the support of so many Iowa schools,” said Iowa Corn Growers Association Director and farmer from Knoxville, Iowa, Steve Kuiper. “Iowa farmers truly care about the water we share as we implement practices to keep our drinking water clean for our families and communities. We are excited to provide these schools a water bottle filling station to enjoy the clean, safe drinking water.”
Winning Iowa Schools:
District 1: Sioux Central, Sioux Rapids
District 2: Hancock Elementary, Britt
District 3: Union High School, La Porte City
District 4: West Monona, Onawa
District 5: Morris Elementary, Bondurant
District 6: North Scott, Eldridge
District 7: Tri-Center, Neola
District 8: Lincoln Center, Albia
District 9: Cardinal Middle School, Eldon
Iowa Corn will work with the winning schools for the installation of the water bottle filling stations over the summer to be completed by the 2021-22 school year. Iowa Corn will be part of the first week of school by donating Iowa Corn water bottles, signage on the filling station, and organize a day for the Iowa Corn Mobile Education Center to be at the school for students to enjoy and learn about Iowa agriculture. Farmers and media may be invited to attend the event.
