The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) welcomes the signing of the United States-Japan agreement stating Japan is lowering tariffs on U.S. agricultural products by seven billion dollars. ICGA is looking forward to seeing the details of the agreement that will provide continual market access with Japan.
“Today’s announcement is great news for farmers because Japan has been a loyal customer of corn in all forms,” said ICGA President and farmer from Monticello Jim Greif. “ICGA supports existing bilateral and multilateral trade agreements with partners around the world. With over ninety-five percent of the world’s population living outside the U.S., trade is very important to farmers in Iowa.”
