Chris Edgington, Mitchell County, is a graduate of Iowa State University and has been farming for 26 years. Edgington is a fourth generation farmer and farms in partnership with his father and brother. In his current operation, he raises corn and soybeans, and operates a swine finishing operation. He and his wife, Vanessa, have two children, Alex and Liz.
Chris currently serves as an Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director At-Large and was recently elected to the National Corn Growers Association Board. He is the past Iowa Corn Promotion Board Chairman and sits on the Iowa Corn Industrial Usage & U.S. Production Committee.
He currently serves on the board for the Ag Ventures Alliance and Rural Development Partners. He is also a member of Iowa Corn’s I-LEAD Class IV. Past activities include chairman of Golden Oval Eggs, Mitchell County Extension board, Mitchell County Pork Producers Board, and Iowa Pork Producer’s Leadership Committee. He also serves as a church trustee.
Chris believes in the importance of improving our grain markets domestically as well as our international exports.
