Schyler grew up on a century farm near Rippey where his passion for agriculture, conservation and food security grew through the examples set by his father and grandfather. He attended Central College in Pella where he played football while pursuing degrees in business management with a marketing emphasis and communication studies. He gained valuable experience while interning at the World Food Prize and the Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance (IAWA), where he solidified his decision to work within the agriculture sector. After graduation, Schyler worked at Farmland Foods in Carroll as a production supervisor before accepting a position at Rueter’s Red Power as parts manager in Grand Junction. Schyler has since returned to the farm and now works on his family’s farming operation with his father, grandfather and uncle. Schyler lives and farms on his wife, Lauren’s century farm north of Churdan in Adaza along with their son Adam.
