Katie is the county executive director for the Boone County USDA Farm Service Agency where she is responsible for the oversight and implementation of Farm Bill programs to producers within the county. A former northern Minnesotan, Katie grew up outside of the agricultural industry but was driven to be a part of it. She pursued her love of agriculture at Iowa State University, where she received both her bachelor’s (animal science) and master's degrees (professional agriculture). Katie along with her husband Todd, are now first-generation farmers in central Iowa who run a red-angus cow/calf herd and grow corn, soybeans and alfalfa. They reside in Stanhope with their two daughters.
