2022 Summer Leadership Development and Grower Services Internship

Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board

Position Overview:

Iowa Corn is seeking an organized, resourceful, and innovative intern to assist with activities in our current leadership development, membership, and grower services programs. The Leadership Development and Grower Services Intern will report to the Leadership Development Manager and work closely with the Director of Grower Services.   

Projects & Responsibilities:

  • Support District Field Managers during member, consumer, and community events 

  • Assist in grower, associate and student member recruitment activities  

  • Assist in Annual Grassroots Summit planning 

  • Help organize summer staff development opportunities virtual and/or in-person 

  • Assist in developing district and county training and leadership development materials 

  • Develop plan for recruiting student members and engagement opportunities and planning Collegiate Advisory Team activities  

  • Attend Corn Congress in Washington D.C. on July 11-14, 2022  

Schedule & Compensation:

  • May – August (dates flexible)  

  • $12/hour – up to 40 hours per week  

Education and Experience:

  • College student interested in membership, event planning, and education  

  • Knowledge of agriculture is a plus   

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to be a self-starter and follow through on tasks and projects  

  • Desire to learn, grow your skillsets, and receive feedback and coaching

The Iowa Corn Promotion Board® (ICPB), works to develop and defend markets, fund research, and provide education about corn and corn products. The Iowa Corn Growers Association® (ICGA) is a membership organization lobbying on agricultural issues on behalf of its 7,500 members. Both organizations work on the joint mission to create opportunities for long-term Iowa corn grower profitability.
