2022 Summer Communications Internship

Position Description:

Iowa Corn is seeking an organized, energetic, and passionate person to assist with activities in our Communications Department. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a talented student to help implement programs that increase demand for corn and create profitably for Iowa’s corn farmers. The Communications Intern will work closely with Iowa Corn’s Communications team to provide support for state and local programs.

Internship Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement Iowa Corn communications events, promotions, and special projects such as the Iowa State Fair, RAGBRAI, Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series, etc.

  • Write social media posts as well as create invites for various events and meetings.

  • Support departments at Iowa Corn with communication programs, such as county fairs, water bottle events, trade teams, etc.

  • Coordinate photo shoots and farmer interviews across the state.  

  • This position is directed by the Director of Communications and works with the Communications team to perform additional duties or tasks to support Iowa Corn’s mission.

  • Attend Corn Congress in Washington D.C. on July 11-14, 2022

This position will be full-time, but temporary beginning in May and ending in August 2022.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Ability to be flexible, positive, take initiative, and demonstrate good judgment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow-through on tasks and projects

  • Knowledge of Iowa agriculture or willingness to learn

Education and Experience:

  • Freshman year of college completed

  • Agricultural background a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lifting 20 lb boxes or equipment

  • Be qualified to drive company vehicles


This is a paid internship $12/hour – up to 40 hours per week.
