ICGA Activities
The ICGA is continually working to improve and protect producer profitability by providing educational opportunities, developing innovative production and risk-management tools, and diligently working on legislative policies that affect the corn industry.

Examples of programs and activities that benefit ICGA members include:

Influence on state and federal legislation, such as:

  • Expanding ethanol usage in Iowa and nationally.
  • Lifting trade sanctions and expanding market opportunities.
  • Improving transportation infrastructure on the river, rail, and road.
  • Creating a favorable environment for expanded value-added ag processing.

Communications and educational materials, including:

  • Corn Update, a weekly summary of news items that may affect your operations (sent via e-mail).
  • On the Hill, a summary of legislative news important to corn growers distributed regularly during the legislative session (sent via e-mail).
  • Internet information through the ICGA and NCGA websites.
  • Member mailings on time-sensitive corn issues.

Input on legislative issues, production programs, environment and conservation regulations, through:

  • District and state policy meetings that engage the members on current issues.
  • Input into development of voluntary, incentive-based conservation programs.
  • Educational opportunities that affect production and marketing decisions.
