DES MOINES, IA - August 29th, 2015 - The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) Annual Meeting and Policy Conference took place this week in Des Moines. Delegates had the opportunity to review expiring policies and debate new resolutions. The Annual Meeting and Policy Conference is the year-end event in the policy development process. The process includes a member survey, roundtable discussions held across the state and at the policy conference. Policies that are related to national issues are adopted and brought froth at the Commodity Classic meetings with National Corn Growers Association (NCGA).
JOHNSTON - IA, August 19th, 2015 - The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) is appealing to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to postpone and rescind the implementation of the "Waters of the U.S." (WOTUS) rule set to go into effect on August 28. Earlier this year, the EPA released its final WOTUS rule, which is intended to provide clarification on when the Clean Water Act comes into play. Although the EPA claims this final rule will have no impact, those who farm for a living disagree.
