Iowa Corn’s Position on Biotechnology
The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) and Iowa Corn Promotion
Board (ICPB) believe biotechnology is an important tool for agriculture
but also recognize that using biotechnology involves many individual
decisions. Biotechnology must be well-managed, with clear, practical
rules.
That is why the ICGA has pressured the government agencies who regulate
biotechnology not to permit the sale of new varieties of biotech corn
seed unless they are determined to be safe and are approved for all
uses – livestock feeding, industrial products and human food.
