ICGA MEMBER ACTIVITIES
The Iowa Corn Growers Association is proud to take this opportunity to thank corn growers in Iowa for all that they do. Ethanol would not be the sole fuel source of the IndyCar Series cars without their promotion of ethanol. We continue to work to promote the benefits of ethanol, but we think it is important to pat yourselves on the back every once in a while for doing what is right.
ICGA members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets at a discount, have special parking at the race, and will be invited to a special hospitality tent before the race begins. Additional opportunities might be available for ICGA members at the race approaches. You will receive e-mail or mailed information when it is available. Feel free to e-mail with questions.
Special member activities will be posted here soon! Don't forget to turn in the sizes for your t-shirts from the tickets you ordered. The t-shirts will serve as your ticket into the member tent activities!
IOWA CORN SPONSORSHIP
Why are the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and the Iowa Corn Growers Association sponsoring the Iowa Corn Indy 250?
Corn growers in Iowa have been working for more than 30 years to build the ethanol market. Today we can take the time to celebrate our success, but also take time to educate consumers on the benefits of a renewable fuel made right in our fields.
Why ethanol?
it’s better for the environment
makes us energy independent and less dependent on foreign oil
improves Iowa’s economy
and the IndyCar Series cars showcase ethanol’s engine performance
This year we are proud to be partnering with presenting sponsor, Pioneer
Fast cars, fast fuel. join us on June 22, 2008 to see the power of ethanol!

2007 Success
On June 24, 2007, the IRL brought the IndyCar Series to the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa for the Iowa Corn Indy 250. The IndyCar Series raced before a more than sold out crowd with fans from many states away. The quick track and cooler temperatures made for a few bang ups, but winner Dario Franchitti was happy to come out on top over teammate Marco Andretti. In his post-race interview Dario thanked many sponsors including ethanol promoters for supporting the IndyCar Series. Televised before a national audience, the Iowa Corn Indy 250 showcased ethanol and the power and performance of a fuel source grown right here in Iowa.
Corn is grown in Iowa and processed in Iowa and it makes sense to showcase the performance and power of 100% fuel grade ethanol in Iowa. We are proud to partner with EPIC and the "e"brand to bring you this amazing innagural Iowa event! For more info on last year, click here.
